Pindrop Claims Licking Your Phone Is The Best Way To Protect Your Identity

Breakthrough Tongueprinting Technology Is The Newest Mouthpiece In Pindrop’s Authentication and Anti-fraud Product Lineup

ATLANTA, GA – [March 29, 2018] –  Pindrop, the pioneer in voice security and authentication, introduces Tongueprinting, a breakthrough technology that analyzes every person’s unique tongue as its newest biometric engine. Pindrop’s Tongueprinting technology will stop fraudsters from taking over legitimate accounts by spoofing the call center with automated bots, social engineering, and knowledge-based authentication questions. Tongueprinting will also help enable companies to build frictionless customer experiences that are fun, taste good, and are as easy as a lick of the tongue.

“Advances in machine learning have allowed us to start capturing all the unique data that everyone  carries around in their mouth. We believe Tongueprinting will open the door to a whole new set of consumer experiences,” said Vijay Balasubramaniyan, CEO & cofounder, Pindrop. “Tongueprinting not only adds an extra layer of security and authentication, it increases the opportunities to generate additional antibodies leading to a healthier user over time.”

Every Tongue Is Unique

Tongueprinting technology analyzes thousands of tiny bumps called papillae, as well as factors such as shape, texture, size, spacing of buds and the behavior of the lick. Proprietary Tongueprinting technology takes only seconds – lick your phone, and authentication is achieved. The tongue lives in your mouth, a protected unit, that is safe from external elements avoiding challenges facing other biometrics like frostbite, pink eye and laryngitis.

Tongueprinting Health Advantages

We’ve all heard about the recent study that found more than 17,000 bacterial gene copies are found on the phones of high school students. Additionally, scientists at the University of Arizona have found that cell phones carry 10 times more bacteria than most toilet seats. Pindrop research shows that licking your phone on average 47 times a day to unlock it, reduces the build up of bacteria and ultimately leads to healthier phone owners.

Things To Avoid Licking

Once you start licking your phone to trade bitcoin, order a car service or board a plane, instinctively you will want to start licking more items. Here is a list of items you want to avoid licking:

  • Toads – when agitated, toads can release a highly toxic chemical that is a hallucinogen. This poison can lead to death.
  • 9 volt batteries – licking a 9 volt battery will cause an electric current to create a tingling sensation on your tongue. If you can’t control your urges to lick batteries, we recommend a size D battery for safe licking.
  • Brownie batter – Licking the spoon when making brownies is something we all love to do but it can lead to salmonella causing diarrhea and vomiting.

*Tongueprinting technology will be available for pre-order on April 1st. Contact [email protected] to schedule a demo.
