Presentation highlights full criminal methodology from reconnaissance to takeover

ATLANTA – July 31, 2014 – Pindrop Security, the pioneer in phone fraud prevention and call center authentication for banks and enterprise call centers, today announced that they have been selected to present “The Lifecycle Of A Phone Fraudster: Exposing Fraud Activity From Reconnaissance to Takeover Using Graph Analysis And Acoustical Anomalies” at this year’s Black Hat USA 2014, happening August 2-7 at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, NV.
The presentation will discuss how enterprises are vulnerable to “human hacking,” the effective social engineering of employees, contractors, and other trusted persons. Using a dataset of over a hundred million calls, Pindrop will show how to detect both the account takeover calls using acoustical anomalies and the reconnaissance calls leading to it through graph analysis. In the process, Pindrop will reveal the lifecycle of a phone fraudster as they work through both the call center agent and the technology to extract information about a customer and takeover his or her account.
The presentation will feature CEO, CTO, and Co-Founder Vijay Balasubramaniyan, Principal Data Scientist Raj Bandyopadhyay, and Senior Software Engineer Telvis Calhoun.
